Inception Forge LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the FileHolster desktop application and the fileholster.com website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
FileHolster is designed with privacy at its core. The application runs entirely offline on your device. We do not collect telemetry, usage analytics, or any data from the application itself.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide at purchase:
- Email address -- provided during checkout so we can deliver your license key.
- Payment information -- collected and processed entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full credit card number, CVV, or billing address. Stripe may share limited transaction details (such as the last four digits of your card and billing country) with us for record-keeping purposes.
Information you provide when contacting support:
- Your email address, name, and any details you include in your message.
Information collected automatically via the website:
- Our website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and referring pages. See Section 4 (Cookies) for details.
Information the application does NOT collect:
- FileHolster operates 100% offline. The application does not transmit any data to us or any third party. No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports, no cloud sync, and no account creation is required.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
- License delivery -- to send your license key to the email address provided at purchase.
- Customer support -- to respond to questions, troubleshoot issues, and provide assistance.
- Transaction records -- to maintain purchase records as required for accounting and legal compliance.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:
- Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) -- processes payments securely. When you purchase FileHolster, your payment information is collected and handled directly by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy. We never have access to your full payment details.
- Resend (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy) -- delivers transactional emails, including your license key. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of email delivery.
- Firebase Hosting (firebase.google.com/support/privacy) -- hosts the fileholster.com website. Firebase may collect limited technical data as part of standard web hosting operations.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. We encourage you to review their policies.
4. Cookies
The fileholster.com website uses minimal cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Hosting cookies -- Firebase Hosting may set cookies necessary for security and site functionality.
- Analytics -- If Firebase or Google Analytics is enabled on the site, it may set cookies to collect anonymized usage statistics (such as page views and referral sources). This data helps us understand how visitors find and use our website. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
The FileHolster desktop application does not use cookies or any web-based tracking technologies.
5. Data Retention
- Purchase records -- We retain your email address and transaction information for as long as necessary to fulfill our legal and accounting obligations, and to provide ongoing license support.
- Support correspondence -- We retain support emails for a reasonable period to provide consistent service and resolve recurring issues.
- Website logs -- Server logs collected by Firebase Hosting are retained in accordance with Google's data retention policies.
If you would like to request deletion of your personal data, please contact us at admin@inceptionforge.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access -- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction -- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion -- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Portability -- Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Objection -- Object to certain processing of your personal data.

7. Children's Privacy
FileHolster is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@inceptionforge.com and we will promptly delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the website or application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
